Ted joined Sherrill & Hutchins as Director of Finance in 2000, having prior experience in the accounting profession. Ted says, “I enjoyed the financial aspect of my work, but had an interest in using that knowledge to help individuals with their personal financial decisions. When Rick Hutchins approached me to discuss working with S&H, their philosophy of a planning approach and being a fiduciary to their clients resonated with me.”
It wasn’t long before he transitioned to becoming a financial advisor, earning his CFP® designation in 2007. He currently serves as a senior advisor and vice president for the firm and finds most of his joy working directly with clients. “Financial planning presents myriad challenges and respective solutions – it is so dynamic” states Ted. “I enjoy identifying the areas which have the most impact to the betterment of someone’s life and legacy and helping clients to implement the objectives that will do so.”
One of our most active representatives, Ted is an avid outdoors enthusiast. His primary interests include cycling, running, and hiking. This high achieving Eagle Scout has even earned the title of Ironman Triathlon Finisher.
FUN FACT
One of Ted’s most chilling memories of his teenage scouting days was on a cross-country skiing trip to Yellowstone National Park, where he spent New Year’s Eve in a tent at a frigid 36 degrees below zero.
