Mark Sheerin serves as the Chief Executive Officer, managing the firm and overseeing all the details of running a business as well as the Chair of the Investment Committee.
Prior to joining S&H Mark worked in Operations for seven years both domestically and abroad for programs funded by the U.S. Department of Labor as well as the U.S. Agency for International Development. “It was great work that I really enjoyed other than the whole part about trying to avoid cholera and land mines” Mark states of his former career.
After years of overseeing federal budgets and designing and implementing operational protocol, Mark now uses that skillset to ensure a smooth-functioning, professional office while maintaining the warmth and tradition we are accustomed to here at Sherrill & Hutchins.
When Mark is not wearing his CEO hat, as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner he works directly with clients and the other Advisors to implement investment strategies. In keeping with the mantra to buy low and sell high, “I enjoy buying positions when the market is tumbling,” says Mark. He knows that separating emotions from investing is what makes clients’ portfolios work for them even when it doesn’t feel good.
When not managing the firm or caring for portfolios, this father of four loves to “laugh with my kids, drink coffee, and read sci-fi novels.” He along with his wife Katie are active members of their local church.
